Picture of the month: “Birthday Messenger.” I found this spider and her web on my 50th birthday as I reflected on my life being half over. Here is this creature, too, right in the middle of the elaborate web she’s spun. It’s so ephemeral that it hardly seems worth all the trouble, yet we can’t help it. That’s just what we do.
I’m an amateur photographer (but hey, who isn’t). Most of my pictures reflect my perspective as a solitary person. They are scenic or urban and don’t feature many people.
