Erik and Marte raised their five children on Sandhåland Farm, which is in Ferkingstad Parish in the Skudenes Clerical District. Our ancestor Hans was their fourth child.
We actually have an address for them — Sandhåland bnr. 11, or “bruksnummer 11.”
They are buried in the Ferkingstad Cemetery, which is older than the church that stands there now. 1
